With a membership you can download nearly 2000 website or flash templates, many with multiple pages. They also offer Valid CSS, PHP Nuke, PowerPoint and full flash templates.

You can choose from a variety of themes suitable for personal or business use, including accounting and finance, dating and romance, construction and industry and IT and software.

If you can't find exactly what you are looking for BoxedArt can customize any template, whether you purchased the template from them or not. They also offer custom design services.

Feature Set:  

There are several ways to purchase from BoxedArt.com, you can sign up for a low-priced membership or purchase limited edition items, customized templates or custom designs.

Memberships are $49 a year and provide unlimited access to the member section downloads, which includes website and flash templates, total identity kits, full flash sites and Valid CSS and PHP Nuke templates. Additionally they offer accessories like flash intros, banner packs, interfaces, flash buttons, object images, simple 3D animations and more. For corporate identity and branding they offer logo templates, product box art and printable items like brochure, newsletter, CD cover, flyers and postcard templates.

For the purpose of this review we tried to focus more on actual website templates rather than extras, like even though they offer DVD covers and labels, it is not a website. We would like to see them offer more actual websites and lower prices for the “exclusive” templates, which they will sell up to 25 of for nearly $1000, seems a bit much for simple three page sites.

 If you are interested in a custom design you can contact their custom work team. Their custom team not only provides custom websites but also image, flash and logo development.

Ease of Use:  

BoxedArt website is bright and playful yet easy to navigate, through their home page you can log in and access all of their major features through easily identifiable icons and labels. Their website template search is available on every page and you can search by member/limited, product type, date posted and by keyword. You can narrow searches by exact phrase, broad match, match one word or match all words.

Almost all the templates can be modified using popular HTML editors and Photoshop, except Full Flash templates, which require Flash MX to modify.

Help/Support:  

BoxedArt doesn't offer online chat or telephone as contact methods; you can only contact them by submitting a support ticket. Although this method is inconvenient, they answered our inquiries within a day.

They host a searchable knowledge base, useful FAQs and tutorials. The tutorials cover various subjects ranging from changing color and text to altering flash files and publishing flash movies.

BoxedArt's reasonable membership fee teamed with their extra products and custom services make it a useful site for designers, but we found their site a bit dated and would like to see more full sites offered at a reasonable price. We have been watching this service for over three years and we feel it has changed very little; we would like to see them update their site and their services to stay competitive.
